Veteran film and theatre actress Shubha Khote, known for her versatile roles in Indian cinema, and her daughter, TV actress Bhavna Balsavar, have recently made headlines with a major real estate move in Mumbai. The mother-daughter duo has purchased a beautiful bungalow in Versova, Andheri West, marking a fresh chapter after the sale of their long-time residence “Shubhangi Bungalow” in Juhu.

🏡 The New Address: A Slice of Peace in Andheri West

The new property is a charming bungalow situated in the Police Officers Progressive Co-operative Housing Society, off Yari Road in Versova. The home comprises a ground floor and two upper floors, set on a spacious 538.20 sq. meters (approx. 5793 sq. ft.) plot of land. The bungalow itself offers a carpet area of 310 sq. meters (approx. 3337 sq. ft.) and includes two parking spaces, as per the registration documents accessed by RERANation.in.

This serene residence, named Pratik, is located in a gated and well-regarded co-operative society, adding to its exclusivity and charm. It’s a peaceful retreat tucked away in the bustling heart of Mumbai, making it a coveted choice for many.

The property was officially transferred on April 2, 2025, through a Transfer Deed, with a declared consideration of ₹19.5 crore. Interestingly, the market valuation stood slightly lower at ₹18.98 crore.

🏠 Saying Goodbye to Shubhangi Bungalow

Before purchasing their new home, Shubha Khote and Bhavna Balsavar sold their long-standing residence, “Shubhangi Bungalow,” located in the plush Ruia Park area of Juhu. Known for its old-world charm, the property spanned 559.37 sq. meters (approx. 6019 sq. ft.) and featured a stilt plus four floors construction.

The Shubhangi Bungalow was sold for a staggering ₹43 crore, significantly higher than the market value estimate of ₹33.78 crore. The sale deed was executed earlier this year and attracted a stamp duty of ₹2.58 crore, under Article 25(b) of the Maharashtra Stamp Act.

The Khote family will reportedly continue to lease the Shubhangi Bungalow for up to six months post-sale, giving them a buffer to transition smoothly into their new Andheri home.

👩‍👧 A Legacy of Strength and Grace

In 1960, Shubha married D.M. Balsavar, who served as the Vice President of Marketing at Nocil Chemicals. The couple had two children: a son, Ashwin Balsavar, and a daughter, Bhavana Balsavar. Tragically, D.M. Balsavar passed away on March 28, 2024, after over six decades of marriage.

Throughout her illustrious career, Shubha Khote has appeared in over 100 Hindi and Marathi films, stage performances, and television series. She has also directed popular comedy plays such as “Hera Pheri,” “Hum Dono,” and “Bachelor’s Wife.” Her home production “Bachelor’s Wives” had more than 40 performances in Mumbai and Aurangabad. Additionally, she hosted the highly successful TV show “Zabaan Sambhalke”. Bhavna Balsavar have earned acclaim in the entertainment industry for her work in beloved TV serials like Dekh Bhai Dekh. Their bond, both personal and professional, continues to inspire generations.

Their new home isn’t just a property transaction — it’s a symbol of legacy, continuity, and grace. As they settle into this fresh abode, fans and well-wishers look forward to seeing how this new space becomes a part of their beautiful journey.
